Facelift Reveal

So I called up XTina’s cosmetic surgeon and got straight to work on making my newsletter look like she’s 20 years younger. What do you think?

But trust me, I know a new colour palette, some cuter formatting isn’t going to dismantle the patriarchy, so I digress.

The reason for updating my newsletter is because the last few months my business has been doing some major upgrading of it’s own. This weekly send is going to be a little less ✨chaotic✨ personal brand theory, we’re keeping the cheerleading, and adding a lot more of spice, and business topics that a founder with your hot brain cares about [through the Electric Feel co lens.]

Let’s dive in.

Huge topic on the internet this week, OnlyFans creators have cracked through the thirst trap algorithms and into the mainstream, & femininst FYP’s.

I feel like the controversy around some content creators process to create content has been a rather slow burn. I’ve been paying attention all year, but you know that once the Shameless Podcast girls bring their office chats to the microphone, it’s set to shake things up A LOT.

Here are the facts:

Some OnlyFans creators have been putting callouts through their channels for members of the public (particularly aiming at high-school graduates on their party weeks) to join them for sex in exchange for videoing it and on-selling as content with the rights remaining to the creator. As Michelle and Zara point out, there is extensive consent forms and due diligence done in the situation (such as ID checking for age verification) before filming begins.

This strategy has certainly caught the attention of many (now around the world) weighing in on the morality of it all. Like this TikTok from ‘Shark Girl Grace’ [at 990k views] or this one from Maddy Lucy Dann [3.2M views]. Often comparing it to how the situation would unfold if genders were swapped.

For some creators, their bread and butter is their controversy. It gets them views, in articles, it gets them on radio, [many of which are male-dominant consumers] and in turn, ends back in their OnlyFans withdrawal balance with several zeroes on the end.

Sharing controversy (no-matter what industry you’re in) is a surefire way to shake up peoples feeds, which algorithms love. It’s interesting to see it now end up on the “other side” of TikTok where women are using their platforms to weigh in.
